In 1983, a group of enthusiastic volunteers started what has today become Disability Nottinghamshire. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do and we would not be able to deliver the services we do without their dedication, commitment and passion.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re always looking for people who can enhance the charity by bringing with them skills, knowledge and experience that we might be lacking. You don\u2019t need formal qualifications or previous experience but if you have a disability, impairment, experience of disability or are a carer it may help your application. You must be 18 years old or over.<\/p>\n
Apart from the reward of helping others and the confidence gained through volunteering, we can also offer National Vocational Qualifications\u2019 (NVQ\u2019s) which look great on a CV.<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re currently receiving welfare benefits, it is unlikely that volunteering with us will affect these but we can advise if you have any questions or concerns.<\/p>\n
Volunteers typically work one full day or two half days a week during office hours (10:00 to 3:00pm).<\/p>\n
